About the Mount Rainier Community Project

Hi, I’m Amina Camara — Real Estate Broker, Howard University alum, and proud Mount Rainier native.

I created this space to celebrate our community, highlight local businesses, share events, and provide clear, caring support for homeowners, buyers, and families. My goal is simple: to make it easier for all of us to connect with the people, resources, and opportunities that make Mount Rainier special.

But this project isn’t just about real estate or services — it’s about home.
It’s about us.
And for me, it’s deeply personal.

About Mount Rainier

Just outside Washington, D.C., Mount Rainier, Maryland is a small city with a long story — one shaped by community, creativity, and connection. Originally developed in the early 1900s as a streetcar suburb and officially incorporated in 1910, the city grew around the transit line that once linked residents to the capital. Today, many of its early homes, storefronts, and gathering places make up the Mount Rainier Historic District, giving the neighborhood its familiar charm, walkability, and character-filled architecture.

Mount Rainier is also a proud cornerstone of the Gateway Arts District, a vibrant creative corridor known for its artists, makers, community spaces, and colorful cultural scene. It’s a place where neighbors greet each other by name, where local businesses thrive with community support, and where newcomers quickly feel at home. Whether you were born here or just discovering it, Mount Rainier offers something rare — a city built on connection, expression, and a deep sense of belonging.

More than a Directory

This project is built for locals, by a local — with the intention to uplift, empower, and connect.
